# Aged Care Ministerial Advisory Group — historical June 19 timing brief

**Document ID:** doc-0493
**Historical brief date:** 19 June 2026
**Checked and contextualised:** 9 October 2026
**Publisher sources:** Ministry of Health and Beehive

This historical editorial brief recorded concerns about report timing in June. The report is now publicly available as [A Place to Grow Old, published 17 August 2026](/document/doc-1623). Publication is no longer pending.

The [December 2025 terms of reference](https://www.health.govt.nz/system/files/2025-12/aged-care-ministerial-advisory-group-terms-of-reference-december-2025.pdf), physical page 2, required draft advice by 17 April, final recommendations **to Ministers by 31 May**, and work to conclude by 30 June. This was **not a public publication deadline**.

The [June 17 announcement](https://www.beehive.govt.nz/release/funding-boost-aged-residential-care-sector) forecast ministerial delivery within weeks. August publication alone does not establish the actual ministerial delivery date or prove the earlier brief's quantified 19-day delay claim.

Earlier assertions about a June 4 webpage update, May 12 meeting and anticipated June 23 questioning were not independently reverified here. A forecast is not evidence that questioning occurred. These are omitted from current key facts.

On [August 17](https://www.beehive.govt.nz/release/ministerial-advisory-groups-report-welcomed), government directed Ministry work with agencies on advice and said it would consider the 40 recommendations. This is administrative follow-up, not adoption or funding of the entire package.

The [September FAQ](https://www.health.govt.nz/system/files/2026-09/Aged-Care-Report-FAQs-Updated-September-2026.pdf), page 4, says there are no immediate changes to how older people receive care. Page 9 describes the Group advocating consideration in Budget 2027, not a government Budget commitment.

Track approved actions, appropriations, contracts and measured delivery. [Later HCSS/IBT terms](/document/doc-1625) are a distinct operational funding stream and do not prove implementation of the 40 recommendations.

Exact primary references, source fingerprints and inspection evidence are preserved in `artifacts/research/care-reform-chronology-corrections-2026-10-09.json`.
